Keith Hines is an actor/singer/model with the Midwest charm of the Oklahoman he is, mixed with the edginess of the New Yorker/Los Angelino he has grown to be. Finishing his successful three-year run in the role of NICK MASSI on the Broadway National Tour of JERSEY BOYS (check out the nationally televised promo video here), Keith decided to take some time in Los Angeles to train with iconic west coast TV/Film teacher Lesly Kahn (whose teachings Keith will be calling on for the rest of his career) and developed a taste for improv as he flew through multiple intensives at UCB. Soon Keith felt his heart tugging him home and headed back to NY. Hitting the ground running, Keith is currently training w/ Anthony Abeson, shooting three new shorts this summer, and will be appearing as NICK MASSI in The MUNY's world regional premiere of JERSEY BOYS this summer in St. Louis!
Keith also recently starred in the off-Broadway musical, COUGAR THE MUSICAL, playing 7 different characters throughout the piece, and in the off-Broadway hit play, SEX TIPS FOR STRAIGHT WOMEN FROM A GAY MAN, in the role of sexy-scientist STEFAN. Check out the RESUME tab to see a list of Keith's credits.
Keith has modeled, most notably for photographer Adam Raphael whose books
ROOM SERVICE and BARELY WORKING have caused a sensation in the world of
male fitness modeling. A natural athlete and an Eagle Scout, Keith enjoys physical activity as it relates to nature and healthy lifestyle. Keith spent much of his young life in the woods and still likes finding time for fishing, camping, and cold beer by a warm fire! In 2014, Keith created his fitness company, www.keithhinesfitness.com, which he still passionately manages today. In addition to the gym and outdoors, Keith digs juggling, basketball, guitar, video games (ZELDA!), and has dabbled in some trapeze.
Keith studied acting ongoing with Jayd McCarty at THE STUDIO/NEW YORK where he also trained with some of New York's best acting teachers: Fay Simpson(Lucid Body), Lucas Rooney and Bryce Pinkham(Clown), Rob Clare(Shakespeare), Grace Zandarski(Fitzmaurice), and Sita Mani(Feldenkrais). Prior to his work with this distinguished faculty, he achieved a Master's Degree in Music Theatre, studying voice with the legendary Florence Birdwell, best known for training a host of Broadway Stars, among them Kristin Chenoweth and Kelli O'Hara."
Keith puts a lot of stock in his family. The oldest of nine kids, the son of two supportive parents, and the boyfriend of an incredibly loving and encouraging girlfriend, Keith believes his family to be the strongest foundation he has to stand on. Keith feels family is his strongest foundation.
It isn't about getting famous, it isn't about making loads of money, it's about bringing a small piece of joy to the hearts of patrons who are at the theatre to escape, to gain perspective, and to grow. As actors, we get to be the vessels that help channel those gifts. That's what it's about. Being a vessel of joy. (Also about playing make-believe and dress up for a living.) I hope audiences find half the joy in watching as I do in the bringing to life these stories we are lucky to share.
